Vithi vs Goodnotes: annotating a paper and keeping the attempt record

A marked paper contains the working behind a score. A score history tells you when an attempt happened and what you recorded. Goodnotes and Vithi can serve those different needs. This comparison is written by Vithi.

The working belongs with the questions

Goodnotes documents handwriting and PDF annotation. Those capabilities are relevant when you want to write on a paper, show a diagram or keep corrections beside the original question.

Vithi’s mock area asks for exam, score and date. That provides a record of the attempt alongside other student information, rather than a claim that Vithi replaces an annotation surface.

Keep the paper and record consistent

For a hypothetical history practice paper, annotate the response and feedback where you did the work. Use a clear filename such as “history-source-paper-2026-10-18-marked”. In Vithi, select the correct exam and log the score and date.

Keep a short review note with the marked paper explaining the most important error and the next practice task. A rising total alone may hide a repeated weakness in one question type.

A sensible split for a tablet workflow

Goodnotes is worth evaluating if handwriting or PDF markup is the central requirement. Vithi is worth trying if completed papers are hard to connect to a dated academic record.

Start with one paper rather than moving your archive. This comparison does not claim native Goodnotes import, automatic marking or attachment synchronisation in Vithi. Preserve the marked original so you can inspect how the score was awarded.
