Vithi vs Notion: a student workspace or a system you build yourself?

If your study setup starts with a blank page, the first job is designing the setup. Vithi and Notion approach that choice differently. This comparison is written by Vithi and focuses on the work you would actually put into each system.

What you configure

Notion databases contain pages with configurable properties such as dates, status and links, plus multiple views. That makes a custom academic workspace possible without forcing every student into the same structure. Its official database guide explains those building blocks.

Vithi already separates subjects and syllabus topics, exam attempts and portfolio activities. Its mock-score form asks for an exam, score and date. The trade-off is a defined academic structure rather than a database schema you choose.

A revision week in each

Suppose you have a biology mock, an essay and a club activity to record. In Notion, you could build a tasks database and a separate attempts database, then decide which properties and views to use. That is a suggested setup, not an automatic import.

In Vithi, start with the relevant subject, log the mock attempt and register the activity in the portfolio. Keep the essay document wherever you already write it. There is no need to move every piece of schoolwork to evaluate the student record.

Choose based on the work you want to maintain

Notion makes sense when unusual projects, custom relationships and a personally designed dashboard are central to your workflow. Vithi is worth trying when you want a defined place for academic records before building a larger system.

Compare one week of real entries: can you retrieve your last attempt, find the next topic and locate an activity description? Judge the retrieval and upkeep, not the number of blocks on a dashboard. Neither tool demonstrates that you understand a topic simply because you marked it complete.
